West Tigers Triumph !!
The joint venture between Balmain Tigers and Wests Magpies has gone from problem child to NRL premiers in one season. With a comvincing 30-16 win over the North Queensland Cowboys. Halfback Scott Prince played a pretty big role in the win. Touch ironic that the Cowoys product had to do this to his old team. This is the first NRL win for any joint venture club. Brett Hodgson, a former Eel, finally got to win a Grand Final after the loss to Newcastle a few seasons ago.
My dear Rabbitohs also did pretty well this season, finishing 13th, a good 3 points and two losses away from the wooden spoon. Too bad Andrew Johns hopes to win a title in England got dashed. Again the irony was that it was an Aussie who put paid to his hopes. Nathan Blacklock, the former Dragon, scored three tries as Hull FC beat Warrington Wolves 40-6.But, What a Man! Single handedly winning the State of Origin and then getting his club side out of the dumps.
Here's hoping that The Rabbitohs do better in the next season. Go The Bunnies!!!
